Our Weekend As Tourists

It is really nice to have family come into town. Our family is from the Bay Area, and since we have two little guys that grow as fast as weeds, we often have family in town.

Besides having family in town, which is wonderful, it is also nice to see the area as a tourist every now and again.

I am surprised  each time I take our out-of-town visitors around. We have a wide variety of museums, trails, restaurants and community events.

This weekend we headed over to the historic Samoa Cookhouse, the Humboldt Bay Maritime Museum and my favorite stop, the railroad museum with the Timber Ridge Association

We also attended our farm's appreciation day. Deep Seeded Farm threw a beautiful party on a beautiful July day!

I promise he really does smile sometimes.

We really love our community CSA. Fresh fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers are included with our share. The opportunity to teach our children about where our food comes from is an added bonus. And they through one mean party.

That was our weekend. It is really refreshing to see where we are living through fresh eyes and a different perspective.

Do you ever play tourist where you live? What are your favorite spots to take family to?
