You guys I get to redo my bathroom. This is huge, because as a young adult who had children before a career (aka little to no funds), I have only dreamed of redoing rooms but never thought these dreams would become a reality.
Thanks to some generous sponsors, ahem our landlords, we have begun redoing our master bathroom complete with beautiful subway tiled shower and marble flooring.
As a kid my first stint in any artistic endeavor was to rearrange the furniture around my family home. That included the living rooms, my bedroom, my parents things and any other room I deemed important to redo. I swear to my husband that I was born this way and I cannot change this habit.
I have always been drawn towards the classics. Looking towards pieces that are still coveted today, that has moved through trends seamlessly. Marble and white subway tiles seem to have done that. Brass, vintagey looking fixtures add to the classic look – while also reminding me of what I imagine Paris bathrooms to look like.
But I wanted to add the eclectic pieces that are calling my name even as we speak; A textured, patterned rug, porcelain canisters I couldn’t possibly allow my kids to touch, shelves I could make on my own and a delicate ring tray where my daily jewelry pieces can sleep at night. All necessities of course.
The bathroom is nearly complete and then my adult finds can move in to my very adult and sophisticated bathroom. Moving up in the world!
